Live Tracking of Electric Air Conditioned Buses to Begin in Lucknow
With the new feature, passengers will be able to check the precise location of buses from their homes and plan journeys accordingly. Work to integrate the tracking facility into the application is reported to be in full swing and is expected to be completed within two months. The implementation will include the electric air conditioned buses recently inducted into the city fleet and will link vehicle positions to stop arrival estimates within the app.
The Chalo Application will inform users of the expected arrival time at their selected stops and will support mobile ticketing where available, reducing uncertainty for daily commuters. The project is being carried out in partnership with Lucknow City Transport Service Limited, which will provide operational data to enable continuous updates. Officials indicated that the system will cover all participating buses in the city to ensure comprehensive service for passengers.
Planners anticipate that the live tracking facility will improve commuter experience by reducing waiting times and allowing for more efficient trip planning, particularly during peak hours. The introduction of this technology under the Smart City Mission reflects broader efforts to modernise urban transport and encourage public transport use. Once operational, the facility is expected to make travel easier in the capital city for residents and visitors alike.
