Dilip Buildcon Named L-1 Bidder For Rs 25.24 bn Chhattisgarh Water Project
The company confirmed that the award does not amount to a related-party transaction and that neither its promoters nor members of the promoter group have any interest in the contract. Dilip Buildcon is a diversified infrastructure company with over three decades of execution experience in large-scale projects across India. It operates in 20 states and one Union Territory, is supported by a workforce of 20,581 employees and maintains a fleet of more than 10,275 equipment units.
The company reported a sharp decline in quarterly earnings, with consolidated net profit tumbling 63.67 per cent to Rs 620.5 mn in quarter four of fiscal year 2026 from Rs 1,708.3 mn a year earlier. Revenue from operations fell 25.71 per cent year on year to Rs 22,998 mn during the same quarter. Management presented the contract award as unrelated to promoter interests and positioned the new project as an opportunity to strengthen its project delivery and operational revenue streams.
Shares of the company reacted negatively to the quarterly results, slipping 2.24 per cent to Rs 433.95 on the Bombay Stock Exchange. The awarded project, which includes long term operation and maintenance obligations, is expected to add to the company's order book and test its capacity to execute complex irrigation works within the stipulated 30 month timeframe. The company will undertake commissioning and subsequent operations in line with the contract terms.
