Nitin Gadkari lays foundation stone for 10 national highway projects

Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, laid the foundation stone of 10 national highway (NH) projects of 336 km worth Rs 14,169 crore in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, through a virtual conference.

The development of the Mathura-Hathras-Budaun-Bareilly highway will improve connectivity and traffic congestion at the pilgrimage and tourist places.

The NH connects Agra Inner Ring Road and Yamuna Expressway, which will help get rid of traffic in Agra. The construction of the Agra-Jalesar-Etah road will enable trade and business of the brass industry.

He had informed the development of 84 Kosi Parikrama Marg of Braj. It will be declared a new NH route and included in Bharatmala Project Phase-II. The Minister added that the new highway route would be developed like the 84 Kosi Parikrama Marg of Ayodhya and connect all the pilgrimage sites. The new highway route will also pass through the borders of Haryana and Rajasthan.

These highway projects will facilitate trade and business. Glass and bangles business will also get a special impetus, with economic development. The highway projects will increase employment opportunities in the states.
