ULIP to be integrated with the coal ministry's digital systems

01 May 2023

The meeting on the integration of the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) with the electronic systems of the Ministry of Coal was presided over by Amrit Lal Meena, Secretary, Ministry of Coal. Senior Ministry officials, the Chairman of Coal India, as well as representatives from SCCL, NLCIL, and MCL, also attended the meeting. The NICDC team gave a thorough presentation on the ULIP portal.

In order to access data from various government systems for track-and-trace, authentication, document digitalisation, process automation, and discovery services, the logistics ecosystem has developed ULIP as a digital gateway. Currently, 106 APIs covering more than 1600 data fields have been used to integrate 33 systems from seven ministries for use by the stakeholders.

By enhancing visibility and transparency in coal movement and assisting in the making of informed decisions, ULIP will improve coal logistics. They will determine which digital projects can be undertaken under ULIP and create a plan for their execution.

The ULIP has a dedicated site that streamlines, expedites, and makes the data request process visible. After the Prime Minister's September 2022 launch, the ULIP portal Goulip.in received registrations from over 490 industry players within seven months. Of these, 76 private players have already signed an NDA and are benefiting from ULIP. These private players have already created over 30 applications that use the data obtained through ULIP.
