AP govt to set up electronic equipment production zone at Mannavaram

The Andhra Pradesh Government has offered the Union Government to install a semiconductor and electronic equipment production zone at Mannavaram bordering Chittoor-Nellore districts where the NTPC -Bharat Heavy Electricals failed to boost industrial activities despite being allocated land over a decade ago. The proposals have been in principle nodded by the Union Power Ministry and are awaiting the proposal of the Commerce and Industries Ministry. Once the offers are sanctioned, heavy electronics production industries can also be set up at Mannavaram, which will help generate thousands of jobs.
