Cityflo has expanded its operations into Delhi NCR and Kolkata and increased its operational fleet to more than 1,000 buses, marking a threefold rise from last year. The app-based premium bus commute platform has introduced over 200 buses on new routes in Delhi NCR and launched initially with 200 buses in Kolkata. The expansion extends Cityflo's footprint to four major Indian cities: Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR and Kolkata. The company attributed the move to growing demand from corporate professionals seeking reliable commute options.

In Delhi NCR the company is operating over 200 buses across more than 30 new routes connecting residential areas in Delhi, Noida, Faridabad and Gurgaon to commercial hubs such as DLF Cyber City and Sohna Road. In Kolkata the initial deployment covers corridors between key residential hubs and commercial districts, with a focus on Sector V and the New Town Business District. The service model centres on reserved seating and express routes designed to reduce commute times.

Cityflo reported serving over five million (mn) professionals annually and recorded a 50 per cent rise in active daily ridership over the past year. The operator estimates that its buses collectively replace approximately one point six mn private car trips each year across its markets, reducing road congestion and emissions. The company said that live customer support and safety protocols have differentiated its offering from public transit and private vehicle options.

Looking ahead Cityflo plans to deepen route density in existing markets, expand corporate partnerships and accelerate a transition towards an electric fleet. The company outlined a longer term goal of making shared transit the primary commute choice for urban professionals across India's major cities. Cityflo was founded in 2015 by IIT Bombay alumni and lists investors including Lightbox Ventures, Chiratae Ventures, India Quotient, Alteria Capital, Anupam Mittal.
