Bajel Projects Limited has entered into a joint venture with Al Sharif Contracting and Commercial Development Company to pursue engineering and construction work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The venture will be formed as an equal partnership to undertake projects across the power transmission and infrastructure sectors. The partnership is intended to position both companies to participate in a major phase of infrastructure investment in the Kingdom.

The joint venture will focus on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) activities, with emphasis on Extra High Voltage (EHV) infrastructure. Project types will include overhead transmission lines, substation packages and underground cabling projects. The arrangement is designed to enable bidding for complex inter-regional corridors and utility-scale transmission programmes.

The timing coincides with Saudi Vision 2030 and an acceleration of grid modernisation, renewable energy integration and inter-regional connectivity. Bajel will bring technical strengths in EHV execution and project management while Al Sharif will contribute local market presence and delivery capability. Al Sharif Group has operated in the Kingdom for 40 years and has interests across contracting, manufacturing and energy-related sectors.

Senior executives described the agreement as a strategic milestone that extends Bajel's international footprint and supports the Kingdom's infrastructure goals. They indicated that pooled resources and combined capabilities are expected to enhance capacity to deliver sustainable transmission networks and to connect abundant renewable generation to load centres. The partners also signalled intent to pursue opportunities with national and regional utilities.

Bajel Projects is part of the Bajaj group and draws on two decades of experience in power transmission and distribution. The company said the joint venture builds on its project management strengths and aims to support national and international infrastructure customers. Al Sharif was described as a multibillion (bn) business group active in contracting, manufacturing, hospitality, renewable energy and electric mobility.

The companies stated that the joint venture will be established to execute awarded contracts and to engage with stakeholders across public and private sectors. The agreement is available on the company website and partners expect collaboration to evolve as project opportunities arise.
