Five ports to be developed with private investment

Private developers in Karnataka have plans to develop five minor ports in the state under the Karnataka State Port Development Policy 2014. It is the first time that the state has formulated such a policy. Ports such as Honnavar, Manki, Mavinakurve Basavaraj Durga Island, Belekeri and Thadadi in Uttara Kannada district will be developed under the public-private partnership mode. The government will provide land and private developers will develop these ports and carry out import and export business.
