Logistics services provider, Delhivery, told the media that it plans to expand its infrastructure in the two key cities of Bhiwandi in Greater Mumbai and Bengaluru.
The firm is collaborating with Welspun on a 700,000 sq ft mega-gateway in Greater Mumbai and with GMR Enterprises Limited for an over 1 million sq ft facility in Bengaluru, including a warehouse for multi-channel order fulfilment for the customers. These fully-automatic large integrated trucking terminals are expected to be operational by 2023 and increase Delhivery's processing capacity to cater to the customer demand from the South and West regions. Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Delhivery, Ajith Pai, said that the company would continue to drive speed, reliability, and cost-efficiency for all the customers through these ongoing investments. CEO of GMR, Bodapati Bhaskar, said that with the growth of the cargo sector across India, there is a need to expand the logistics infrastructure. Managing Director of Welspun One Logistics Parks, Anshul Singhal, said that with the increasing logistics and warehousing sector passing a transformational phase in India, this collaboration would take the company a step closer to positively value-adding to its customer's business requirements.
