First ethanol plant in Chhattisgarh to be set up in Kabirdham

Chhattisgarh will get its first ethanol plant in Kabirdham district, near the Bhoramdev Cooperative Sugar Factory.

For the plant's location, the district administration has identified 35 acres of vacant land adjacent to the factory. The plant will have an 80 klpd capacity. The ethanol plant will be built through a public-private partnership (PPP).

After a national tender, the state government considered all micro issues before allocating the work. Bhoramdev Cooperative Sugar Factory and NKJ Biofuel, a subsidiary of Chhattisgarh Distillery, have signed a contract.

The establishment of an ethanol plant will generate direct and indirect employment opportunities. The ethanol plant will be constructed be with hybrid technology.As per the agreement, the construction is likely to be completed by the end of the 2022.
