GAIL, HCL Ink Pact To Develop Critical Minerals For Clean Energy

GAIL (India) Ltd and Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore and develop critical mineral resources essential for the clean energy sector. The collaboration will focus on securing materials such as copper, which are vital for renewable energy technologies, electric vehicles, and energy storage systems.
The partnership aims to strengthen India’s supply chain resilience in critical minerals, reduce dependence on imports, and support the country’s shift towards sustainable energy solutions.
Officials from both companies said the MoU reflects their commitment to advancing the government’s clean energy goals and fostering domestic resource development to meet rising demand from emerging green industries.
