LG lauds government for improving the J&K electrical system

Manoj Sinha , Lieutenant Governor, thanked the Government of India and RK Singh, Union Power Minister, for approving Phase-I of the Rs 56.41 billion Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) for the complete revamp and strengthening of the power distribution infrastructure in both urban and rural areas of J&K.

The LG described the approval of Phase-I as an important step in the UT's power sector that will guarantee J&K residents an uninterrupted and dependable supply of electricity.

JPDCL will receive Rs 28.07 bn (Rs 22.65 bn under Loss Reduction and Rs 5.41 bn under Smart Metering) of the Phase-I funding, whereas KPDCL will receive Rs 28.34 bn (Rs 23.29 bn under Loss Reduction and Rs 5.04 bn under Smart Metering).
