Torrent Secures ISTS Renewables in Maharashtra

Torrent Power has secured the rights to develop inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected renewable projects in Maharashtra. The company emerged as the successful bidder in a competitive auction conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).

The project involves the establishment of ISTS-connected solar and wind power projects in Maharashtra. Torrent Power will be responsible for the design, engineering, procurement, supply, construction, operation, and maintenance of the projects.

The auction, conducted under SECI's ISTS program, is part of the government's ongoing efforts to promote renewable energy generation and facilitate the transmission of clean energy across states. Torrent Power's successful bid positions the company to contribute significantly to the renewable energy landscape in Maharashtra.

This development aligns with India's broader commitment to increasing the share of renewable energy in its overall energy mix. ISTS-connected projects play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient transmission of renewable power from resource-rich regions to areas with high electricity demand.

VE Commercial Vehicles recorded sales of 7,978 units in May 2026, compared to 7,401 units in May 2025, registering growth of 7.8 per cent.
