What, according to you, will be the major differentiator of bauma CONEXPO INDIAfrom all the other construction equipment exhibitions? We are undisputedly the largest show in North India in terms of scale of participation and representation from all segments of the building and construction industry. We are known for our well-researched customer engagement and unforgettable customer experience. The upcoming edition of bauma CONEXPO INDIA is being endorsed by the Honourable Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari, National Highways Association of India (NHAI) and National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC). Apart from this, the show enjoys support from important policy influencers in the Centre and state governments, and key industry associations like ICEMA, BAI and NAREDCO. North India is the centre of infrastructure development in the country and is being appreciated by builders and contractors from across the country. Backed by these facts, we are hosting the upcoming edition of bauma CONEXPO INDIA at the India Expo Centre in Greater Noida, which is an international-standard venue providing world-class facilities. bauma CONEXPO INDIA draws its strength and brings international flavour from the bauma network of trade shows in Munich and China and its partnership with one of North America’s largest fairs, CONEXPO. What are the expectations of exhibitors and visitors from bauma CONEXPO INDIA? bauma CONEXPO INDIA offers a unique customer experience through live product demos, 20+ knowledge-rich conferences, and business-to-government sessions. The show is a vibrant meeting place for exhibitors and visitors. We are executing 5,000+ buyer-seller meetings, which would enable meaningful handshakes and unlock business opportunities. Among the major highlights of this show are the conferences for the mining sector concerning energy-efficiency and safety. There are also conferences focused on skill-building to create quality jobs in the construction equipment space. The sessions are designed with industry associations and skill development councils through special training programmes, including classroom programmes and practical sessions. Can you please tell us about the concurrent events being held during bauma CONEXPO INDIA? Our conferences will focus on evolving technologies in the Indian industry and best practices from the global industry. Uttar Pradesh is leading the country's rapid infra-expansion plans. Our show will bring together public and private-sector leaders who will discuss the scope and challenges within the state's existing development projects. As mentioned earlier, this edition will see a special focus on machinery innovations for the mining sector, especially pertaining to energy-efficiency and safety measures and we will focus on the construction equipment industry’s skill-building initiatives. A lot of construction equipment exhibitions have happened recently. Will this have any effect on the number of international participants? Yes, indeed, many equipment exhibitions have taken place recently, the largest one on the international scale being bauma in Munich. Therefore, we are witnessing huge interest in bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2023, as the world recognises India as a key hotspot for infra investments. Additionally, infrastructure plays a crucial role in the sustainable development of any country. Hence, infrastructure development is the biggest focus area of the Government of India. India plans to spend $1.4 trillion on infrastructure development during 2019-23. The growth of our show can be attributed to the increasing investments by the Government in the infrastructure and housing sector. Construction equipment plays a major role in driving these sectors and hence we are witnessing growing interest and increasing participation from our international exhibitors to showcase solutions at the show that are going to be massive drivers in attracting visitors. How do you see the market for construction equipment in India? India is well on its way toward becoming the world's second-largest construction equipment market and the manufacturing hub of the world. Construction equipment sales in the second quarter of this fiscal year showed an 8 per cent year-on-year growth with healthy performance on the export front as well.Investment in infrastructure such as roads, mining, housing, railways and irrigation is a key element for driving India’s economic growth. India’s construction equipment industry would be playing a giant role in realising the aspirational goals of these sectors, therebystrengthening the country’s pursuit of its economic goals. With $1.4 trillion of investments in infra-development planned by the Government and projects being undertaken across the country, bauma CONEXPO INDIA comes at an opportune time. How has the response to bauma CONEXPO INDIAbeen? How do you look at taking the concept to future editions? As one of the largest trade fair organisers in the country, our purpose is to enable meaningful handshakes and unlock business opportunities for all our stakeholders. Hence, we are confident of building on the current overwhelming response and adapting it to future editions to suit the industry’s timely needs. What are the various new infrastructural efforts undertaken that would make things easy for exhibitors and visitors alike? Our exhibitors and visitors are excited about the upcoming edition’s venue. One of the reasons we choseIndia Expo Centre is because it offers world-class facilities like adequate parking space, e-charging stations and availability of good quality hotels, restaurants and recreational centres near the exhibition venue. Innovation and research are getting a boost. How will this be reflected at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2023? A lot of innovation and research is going on toward electrification, automation and safety measures in construction equipment. bauma CONEXPO INDIA returns after four years with innovative products and technologies and there is a flurry of enthusiasm among stakeholders to witness thesenew technologies first-hand.
