Delson Contracts Adds Liebherr PR 716 G8 Dozer

"Delson Contracts has strengthened its earthmoving fleet with the addition of the PR 716 G8 Crawler Dozer from Liebherr Group, supporting mixed-use developments in Kirriemuir, north of Dundee.

Operating across recycled aggregates, civil engineering, demolition and design-and-build packages since 1990, the contractor continues to prioritise reliability and long-term equipment ownership.

Expanding Liebherr Fleet

Supplied by Liebherr Great Britain, the new dozer joins a fleet that includes A 910 and A 914 Compact wheeled excavators and an R 922 crawler excavator. Managing Director Bruce Stott noted that consistent machine performance and responsive after-sales support have driven the company’s growing investment in Liebherr equipment.

Compact Yet Powerful

As the smallest model in the G8 crawler dozer range, the PR 716 G8 has an operating weight between 13.3 t and 15.8 t. Powered by a 145 hp (107 kW) 4.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine paired with a hydrostatic travel drive, the machine delivers strong drawbar pull and fuel efficiency, averaging approximately 9.3 litres per hour.

Available in XL or LGP undercarriage configurations, the model supports bulk earthmoving as well as precise grading tasks. Delson Contracts specified its machine in LGP format with 711 mm track pads and a six-way PAT blade, prepared for Trimble Earthworks machine control integration.

Intelligent Assistance

The PR 716 G8 is factory-prepared for machine control systems and features Liebherr’s Operator Assistance functions as standard. Free Grade supports active blade stabilisation, while Definition Grade enables basic 2D surface modelling with automatic blade control to defined inclinations.

Operator Comfort and Serviceability

The redesigned cab prioritises visibility and ergonomics, with expansive glazing, optimised seating position and a centrally mounted touchscreen display. Maintenance access is simplified through wide-opening engine bay doors, rearward-tilting cab access to hydraulics and grouped fuelling points for efficient servicing.

Supporting Long-Term Growth

Although not required daily, the crawler dozer adds flexibility to Delson Contracts’ fleet for ground preparation and finishing works across its Scottish projects. The contractor continues to emphasise equipment durability, build quality and dependable support as central factors in its procurement decisions.

With its balance of efficiency, precision and operator-focused design, the PR 716 G8 strengthens Delson Contracts’ capability to deliver high-specification developments across Scotland."
