PRANA Secures EDGE Advanced for GIFT City Project

PRANA by Nila, a residential project by Nila Urban Living, has received the EDGE Advanced Preliminary Certification from Sintali, becoming the first residential development in GIFT City to achieve EDGE building certification. The project had also recently secured WELL Pre-Certification, placing it among a select group of residential developments pursuing both global green and wellness standards.
The certification highlights PRANA’s strong sustainability performance, with 48 per cent energy savings, 52 per cent water savings, and a 46 per cent reduction in embodied carbon in materials compared to baseline requirements. These figures significantly exceed the minimum thresholds under the EDGE standard.
Spread across 696 residential units, the project is expected to generate an annual operational carbon footprint of 312.84 tCO2 per year while delivering savings of 244.44 tCO2 per year. Its sustainability strategy includes a high-performance building envelope, reflective roofing, insulated walls, high-performance glass, energy-efficient cooling and lighting systems, renewable energy generation, water-efficient fixtures, wastewater recycling, and the use of low-carbon materials.
Developed by IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, EDGE requires at least 20 per cent improvement in energy, water, and material efficiency over local benchmarks. With this achievement, PRANA has set a new benchmark for sustainable residential development in GIFT City.
