IBM Opens Infrastructure Innovation Centre In India For AI Push

IBM has opened its first infrastructure innovation centre in India as part of an effort to accelerate deployment of artificial intelligence capabilities across enterprises and public sector bodies. The centre has been described by the company as a hub to develop, test and scale hardware and software architectures that underpin large AI models and data workloads. It will work with customers, partners and academic institutions to address latency, security and sustainability challenges for AI systems.

The initiative is intended to strengthen local engineering capabilities and support integration of cloud, on-premises and edge infrastructure in service of data-intensive applications. The centre will reportedly combine expertise in high performance computing, systems engineering and hybrid cloud operations to create reference architectures and best practices.
