DDCA: Feroz Shah Stadium to be renamed Arun Jaitely Stadium

The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) made the decision to rename the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in a tribute to its former President Arun Jaitley, who passed away recently. It will now be known as the Arun Jaitley Stadium. 

As reported, the rechristening will take place on September 12, at a function in the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium; which will also see a stand at the Kotla stadium being named after the Indian captain Virat Kohli.

Jaitley, in his time as the President, has been credited with modernizing and improving the infrastructure of the stadium. He took steps to increase its facilities and seating capacity to accommodate more viewers. World-class dressing rooms were also constructed under his Presidency.

Reportedly, the function will be attended by Home Minister Amit Shah and Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju.
