Tata Power, Tata Motors to Set Up 200 Fast-Charging Stations for EVs

Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Motors Limited to establish 200 fast-charging stations for electric commercial vehicles (CVs) in key metro cities across India. This strategic collaboration will cover Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata, aiming to enhance India's electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure and support the growing fleet of electric CVs.

This initiative builds on the existing partnership between the two Tata Group companies, focusing on delivering easy and reliable charging solutions for small electric CVs. Tata Motors’ electric CV owners will benefit from exclusive charging tariffs, reducing operating costs and boosting profitability. Alongside the 200 new stations, Tata Power's EV charging network is expected to grow to nearly 1,000 fast chargers nationwide.

Vinay Pathak, Vice President & Business Head – SCV & PU, Tata Motors, emphasized the significance of the collaboration, stating, "We’re pleased to strengthen our partnership with Tata Power to transform the electric commercial vehicle landscape by ensuring ease of access to fast chargers at convenient locations across the country." Tata Motors is committed to developing an ecosystem that promotes the use of emission-free electric vehicles.

Deepesh Nanda, CEO & MD of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, highlighted Tata Power's dedication to expanding the EV network, adding, "With one of the largest EV charging networks across the country, Tata Power is committed to accelerating e-mobility by providing reliable EV charging solutions across India."

Tata Power's EV network, branded as EZ Charge, has already expanded to over 1,00,000 home chargers, 5,500 public and semi-public charging points, and 1,100 bus charging stations in 530 cities. These chargers are located at accessible spots such as highways, malls, and residential complexes, facilitating the rapid adoption of electric mobility across the country.

Tata Motors currently offers the Ace EV, a leading small electric commercial vehicle equipped with advanced battery management and telematics systems, supported by over 150 service centers nationwide.
