Work on the 26 km stretch of the Bille-Miging road under Package-I of the Arunachal Frontier Highway (NH-913) was formally flagged off at Payum in Siang district, marking the start of construction activity in the area. The stretch falls under Package-I and will be executed by Mayasheel Ventures Limited (Mayasheel), which has established a camp office in Kaying. Officials described the commencement as a significant milestone for local connectivity and regional development. The project is expected to provide a major boost to connectivity and to facilitate improved movement of people and goods across the region, with authorities indicating benefits for trade and access to services. Local representatives appealed for full cooperation from the residents of Payum circle and urged them to avoid creating any hindrance during the construction process. The executing agency was instructed to pursue the work at a fast pace while adhering strictly to prescribed technical specifications, quality standards and project norms. The local legislator Talem Taboh, who represented the constituency at the flag-off, expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and Chief Minister Pema Khandu for sanctioning and facilitating the project. He described the commencement as a major step towards improving connectivity and development in the Payum circle, noting that the initiative responds to long-standing local demands for better road infrastructure. Attendance at the ceremony included the Payum zila parishad member, Gaon Buras and villagers. Mayasheel will be responsible for on-site execution and is expected to coordinate with district authorities and community representatives to manage land access, material logistics and workforce accommodation. Authorities signalled that careful monitoring and adherence to environmental and safety norms will be essential to maintain timelines and ensure the quality of the carriageway. The start of work on this stretch joins other regional road initiatives intended to strengthen the broader Frontier Highway network.
