Kaito Inspects Tizit Road Projects

Public Works Department (Roads and Buildings) Minister G. Kaito Aye inspected the ongoing construction of the Foothill Road at Tizit and the PMGSY-III road connecting Tizit’s Lapa Lampong area with Oting in Mon district. The inspection formed part of his tour of divisions undertaking Foothill Road construction across Nagaland.

According to the office of the chief engineer, PWD (R&B), the minister has been visiting the divisions to assess construction progress and the quality of work. The visits are also intended to identify challenges affecting implementation and support timely action by officials and contractors.

During the inspection, Kaito reviewed the progress of both projects and interacted with departmental officials and engineers. He acknowledged the efforts of the department but directed officials to work with greater sincerity so that the projects could be completed within the stipulated timeframe without compromising construction quality.

The minister also instructed contractors to execute the works diligently and maintain the required standards throughout construction. He said timely completion would enable residents in the region to benefit from improved road connectivity at the earliest, while effective supervision would help ensure that the completed roads remained durable.

Kaito described roads as the lifeline of the people and said the department remained committed to providing durable, all-weather connectivity. He said he would continue monitoring the progress of the Foothill Road and other road projects across the state.

The minister was accompanied by Works and Housing Secretary John Tsulise Sangtam, Superintending Engineer (D), PWD (R&B), and State Quality Coordinator Er. Lanu Jamir. Executive Engineer (D) and Foothill Road project in-charge Er. Chubalepshi Jamir, the Executive Engineer of PWD (R&B), Mon Division, and other departmental officials also joined the inspection.
