Ashoka Buildcon Wins Rs 6,021.6 mn RVNL Order For Uttarakhand Rail

Nashik-based Ashoka Buildcon Limited (Ashoka Buildcon) has secured a Letter of Acceptance from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) for a Rs602.16 crore contract, equivalent to Rs 6,021.6 mn, to carry out electrical and mechanical works for four tunnels on the Rishikesh-Karnprayag new rail line in Uttarakhand. The order covers tunnels T-13, T-14, T-15 and T-16 under package E-4 and was formalised by RVNL through a letter dated 28 August.

The scope comprises supply, installation, testing and commissioning of tunnel electrical and mechanical systems, including substations, high- and low-tension cables, diesel generator sets, lighting and uninterrupted power supply systems. The contract also covers ventilation and fire-fighting systems and related ancillary works required to make the tunnels operational.

Ashoka Buildcon will have 30 months for completion from the date of commencement and must provide a performance bank guarantee of Rs25.51 crore, equivalent to Rs255.1 mn. The defect liability period for the project is two years and the contract is a domestic order forming part of the broader Rishikesh-Karnprayag new rail line project in the state.

Earlier this month, Ashoka Buildcon reported receipt of a Letter of Intent from REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited for a transmission project in Maharashtra carrying annual transmission charges of about Rs126.5 crore, equivalent to Rs1,265 mn. The work involves establishing the Sakoli substation in Bhandara district, has a completion timeline of 24 months and an operations and maintenance period of 35 years. The company closed the first quarter of fiscal 2027 with an order book of Rs15,251 crore, equivalent to Rs152,510 mn or Rs152.51 bn, with road EPC and HAM together accounting for around 54.5 per cent, roads and railways about 63 per cent, power transmission and distribution 33.2 per cent and building EPC 3.5 per cent.
