BEML Wins Rs 4.14 Billion Order for Bengaluru Metro Trains

BEML has recently secured a new Rs 4.14 billion contract from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) to supply additional trainsets for Phase II of the Bengaluru Metro Rail Project. The order supports ongoing efforts to expand the city’s metro network and enhance urban mobility.

The public sector company, known for manufacturing metro coaches and heavy equipment, said the additional trainsets will help increase passenger capacity as the network continues to grow. In its filing to the BSE, BEML confirmed the value of the new order but did not provide details on delivery timelines or technical specifications.

Earlier, BEML received a Rs 4.05 billion order from BMRCL for seven additional metro trains under the same project phase. The company operates across defence and aerospace, mining and construction, and rail and metro segments, with manufacturing plants in Bengaluru, Kolar Gold Fields, Mysuru, and Palakkad, supported by nationwide sales and service networks.
