CSCL seeks extension for staff involved in key projects

Even though is moving towards a closure, the authority has sought two to three months’extension of the current staff to ensure smooth functioning of key project. “As these are crucial projects for the city, the CSCL needs its expert staff till these projects are not transferred to other departments,” said a source. The move has come following the expiry of the term of a company providing services in the CSCL. Sources have confirmed that since the proposed extension needs proper approval from the competent authority, as finances are directly related to this, proper procedure has to be followed and the role of the Board of Directors becomes quite crucial. “At present, the pilot project of 24X7 water supply, Public Bike Sharing (PBS), functioning of Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) are with the CSCL, and people are required to run these projects. The CSCL has also started identifying departments where current projects of the CSCL can be transferred. The matter will be discussed in the Board of Directors (BOD) meeting of CSCL,” sources revealed. The CSCL has worked with the Municipal Corporation, transport and police over installation of CCTVs, ITMS, (Intelligent traffic management system), ATCS, (adaptive traffic control system) and data collection of different departments. “As per contract ICCC will be managed by the BELL for five years and out of three, two years are still left, ICCC has huge manpower and technological infrastructure,” said another source. “CSCL has completed many crucial works, and both UT administration and central government has funded Rs 10 billion during these 8 years,” the source added.
