Gujarat-based startup develops an organic waste decomposer

A startup that has been incubated by Anand- based Directorate of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Research (DMAPR) developed an organic waste decomposer expediting the organic waste decomposition. The organic waste which is generated in bulk in various farms and at homes in the country will be decomposed faster.

A regular organic waste requires a few months for decomposition. However, this new multi-purpose decomposer transforms organic waste into manure in a span of just 45 days and at a lower cost.

Senior scientist and principal investigator at Medi-Hub, TBI, Dr R Nagaraja Reddy said that the Ahmedabad-based startup M/S Green Cross Agritech developed the Trinetra, an agriculture waste management product. 50 grams for one metric tonne is required for turning waste into wealth.

Medi-Hub, Technology Business Incubator (TBI) is an agribusiness incubator that supports the agricultural incubation and business development commissioned by the Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR), Ministry of Agriculture, and Farmers Welfare at DMAPR.

Trinetra is a microbial consortium that consists of novel strains of bacteria (pseudomonas and bacillus) as well as actinomycetes, widely involved in the organic waste decomposition of organic waste.

It is said to be a next-generation organic waste decomposer working efficiently at a lower dose. It is not bulky and pocket-friendly. The decomposer can be used instantly.

The accelerated Agri waste decomposition with consortia of microbes provides solutions for issues caused by the burning of crop residues.

The decomposer has multiple usages. It can be used by farmers for the preparation of farmyard manure and decomposing crop residues post-harvesting. It can be utilised for zero-budget farming and city waste management.
