Vinayak Deshpande, Managing Director, Tata Projects
(I am immensely thankful to CW and the jury members for recognising the work I have done in the industry so far. This honour has come to me as a bit of a surprise because there are many companies who have done such extraordinary work in the Indian construction landscape. I believe what we have done in the past few years at Tata Projects is fairly small in comparison to some great global achievements. The credit goes to this nation. India is becoming a great place for construction and investment in infrastructure. And this is what is giving us huge opportunities to grow and expand.
Tata Projects has seen a growth of about 30-40 per cent in the past two years. I believe this is majorly because of some great leaders who are driving excellent agendas for the country¦s development and are giving us a push to bring something innovative and creative to the table v for instance, the river rejuvenation project, backed by the chief minister, where the water of a 42-km-long river flowing through Jaipur was treated. Projects like these not only give you commercial or financial satisfaction but pride in doing something for your country.
Of course, I would like to extend the credit to our customers and clients who have trusted us and granted us the opportunity to showcase our capabilities. I must recognise all the design and engineering partners who make those dreams come true for us; and, of course, my employees. I always tell my employees that I may be the captain but I am one of you playing in the game, so let¦s play together, let¦s play united. For any project execution, if you check in the market today, they will tell you that Tata Projects will execute it for sure, on time or before time. We take great pride in completing our projects before schedule.
Last but not least, I want to thank the Tata Group. I have had the opportunity to work with many experienced leaders and I have learned several values that have inspired me to do something bigger and better for the company and the nation.
