Eicher Trucks & Buses has introduced a first-of-its-kind initiative for the welfare and safety of truck drivers - Eicher Driver Care Programme - which will run 365 days of the year; in a joint effort with Eicher Group Foundation and Dr Shroff's Charity Eye Hospital, Eicher has launched three Eicher Eye and Ear Screening Mobile Vans to provide accessibility to affordable and advanced quality eye and ear care services to the truck drivers.

Rajan Nanda (76), Chairman and Managing Director, Escorts, passed away on August 5, 2018, after a brief illness. Nanda joined Escorts in 1965 at the age of 23; in 1994, he took over as the Chairman of Escorts Group. It was under his stewardship that new technologies were introduced in various businesses to spearhead the growth to the next level. Nanda was also instrumental in setting up the state-of-the-art R&D facility for Escorts at Faridabad. This apart, he was an active member of several apex trade and industry bodies.
