Birla Corp expands clinker capacity

Birla Corporation plans to expand clinker capacity at its Chanderia plant in Rajasthan from 3,600 tonne per day to 6,000 tonne per day. The corresponding cement capacity is expected to rise from 1.2 mtpa to 2.7 mtpa. The board of the company has approved the proposed expansion. Besides, the company also intends to increase the capacity of its proposed power plant from 35 MW to 50 MW. The total cost of clinker and power projects is estimated to be Rs 273 crore.
