BMRC may complete most work on stations by year-end

Sources from the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) informed that most of the work on the underground stations of the East-West corridor may be completed by year-end.

Expect for the work on the Majestic underground station, work on other stations may be completed by year-end.

The above work is part of the Namma Metro Phase 1 project. In an indication of advanced stage of this work, contractors have begun putting up roof slabs over the station box structure.

Over 50 per cent of the slab work is complete in Sir M Visvesvaraya (Central College) and Vidhana Soudha underground stations. BMRCL completed nearly 90 per cent of the roof slab work on the City Railway Station underground metro station (near Leprosy Hospital on Magadi Road). Meanwhile, it has just commenced work on the Cubbon Park underground station.

Thereafter, 11 different contractors will add finishing touches to the project, including track-laying and installing escalators, which might take another six months.

Thus, before the North-South line (Hesaraghatta Cross-Anjanapura), the East-West line — from Byappanahalli to Mysore Road Terminal (Nayandahalli) — could be opened for commercial operations.

Your next big infra connection is waiting at RAHSTA 2025 – Asia’s Biggest Roads & Highways Expo, Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai. Don’t miss out!
