Delhi's civic agency okays 12 parking sites

In Delhi, the South Municipal Corporation has identified and approved 12 new sites for surface parking. The copital is facing shortage of parking spaces. Senior officials acknowledged that finding parking space was difficult, especially on weekends.

The officials said unauthorised parking has compounded the problem. During meetings with Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority and Traffic department, the corporation identified many stretches, of which 12 have been approved for parking.

The stretches approved are Lajpat Nagar near reservation office, Feroze Gandhi Marg near Lajpat Nagar, Living Style Mall in Jasola, Panchwati Tughlakabad, Eros Cinema in Jangpura, Katwaria Sarai, Gulmohar Enclave, East Of Kailash near government school, Aurobindo Place, community centre in Shekh Sarai Phase-II, Adhchini near BSES office, and Pushpa Bhawan between Madangir and Sheikh Sarai.
