MIDC says final land price fixed for DMIC project

The final price for acquiring land for the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) project is fixed by the district administration of Aurangabad as per the current rates and negotiations with the farmers.

This information was given by the regional officer of Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), Aurangabad, Annasaheb Shinde denying reports of delay in the land acquisition process.

Earlier, reports suggested that the second phase of the land acquisition process for the DMIC got delayed because the MIDC failed to carry out its job to fix the land rate.

Shinde also said that even though the acquisition of the 555 hectare of land at Karmad had reached its final stage at the rate of Rs 23 lakh per acre, the matter was getting delayed as the district administration was yet to send the joint measurement report to the state government.

After the report is sent, the government approval will be sought to carry out the 32-1 notification, after which it will give its final approval and sanction the funds, he said.

The district sub-divisional officer and the land acquisition officer, Sambhaji Adkune too agreed with the regional officer of MIDC. He said the land rates are fixed at the collectorate office and the funds are sanctioned by the state government. The negotiation process with the farmers is on and soon after a new collector takes charge, things will gain momentum, Adkune said.
