New road may be built in Pimple Saudagar in Pune

In Pune area, an alternative road in Pimple Saudagar will be built by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to link the area to Sangvi-Kiwale bus rapid transit (BRT) route in the city. The existing two-km road from Planet Millenium to Rakshak chowk passes through defence areas. The road is being used by over 10,000 local residents and is often blocked by defence personnel. The road is the easiest route for residents of Pimple Saudagar to reach Aundh, Baner and other areas. If the road closed, residents have to take a longer route to access Sangvi-Kiwale road to reach these areas. About a year ago, when the road was closed, the civic officials had to seek the intervention of the divisional commissioner to solve the impasse.
