Pucca road construction brings a sea change to MP's village

The entire scenario of the Pathar village in Madhya Pradesh's Shahdol district has been changed with the construction of pucca roads. It is said that roads are identity of villages and roads play important role in paving way for development.

With the construction of the road in the village, a number of problems faced by people have come to an end. The pucca road in Pathar village has been built under the Panch Parmeshwar Yojna with convergence of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarnatee Act (MNREGA).

Residents of the Pathar are over enthusiastic with construction of pucca road in the village. Earlier, it used to become very difficult to venture out of house during rainy season since mud used to be everywhere in the village. He said that construction of road has got rid of a number of problems in the village.

Now, vehicles are brought to houses for a number of works including rushing expectant mothers to hospital. Street vendors are visiting doorsteps to sell goods. Schoolchildren face no difficulty in reaching school during monsoon. Along with pucca roads, drains are also being constructed in the village. As a result, water does not flow on roads.

Shahdol Zila Panchayat has provided basic amenities in all five Janpad Panchayats of the district by sanctioning 443 construction works. Besides, sanction for construction of over 65 kilometer long CC roads has been given in the district. So far, over 30 kilometer long CC roads have been constructed.
