Centre Sanctions Rs 3.75 Bn for Roads and Bridges in Chhattisgarh Tribal Areas

The Centre has approved Rs 375.71 crore under Phase-II of the Prime Minister’s JANMAN scheme for building 569.56 km of roads and 108 bridges in 26 districts of Chhattisgarh. The projects aim to enhance connectivity in remote tribal and Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) regions.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai thanked the Prime Minister and the Union Rural Development Minister for the sanction, calling it a step toward linking remote areas with mainstream development. The initiative is expected to boost mobility, reduce isolation, and improve access to healthcare, education, and economic opportunities.

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the PM JANMAN scheme focuses on bridging connectivity gaps in difficult terrain to enable last-mile delivery of welfare services and infrastructure to underserved communities.
