India, Nepal to negotiate for 900 MW hydro project

India and Nepal are negotiating for a Project Development Agreement (PDA) to generate hydro-electric power in the country. The negotiations for the 900 MW Arun-III project are being held between Investment Board Nepal (IBN) and Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam, India. Under this PDA, to be signed between GMR and IBN, Nepal will get 22 per cent of the energy generated from the project free and 27 per cent free equity share in the project.
