The Jammu and Kashmir government is planning to expand power capacity in the state through various power projects. These include the 400 MW Karthai hydro electric power project, 990 MW Karthai-II unit, 93 MW New Ganderbal, 48 MW Lower Kalnai and the 60 MW Parnai projects.
