The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has come up with a proposal to set up
a small hydro-electric project in Kannur district under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The project, with an installed capacity of 15 MW and annual generating capacity of 36 mn units, is planned in Thalassery taluk. The total cost is estimated at Rs 127.5 crore.
