Land issues continue for Jaitapur nuclear project

The 10,000 MW Jaitapur Nuclear Power Project in the Konkan region of Maharashtra continues to face land issues.

Villagers in the region have refused to accept the enhanced compensation package, which was recently announced. Villagers claim that the land has been acquired forcibly for the project. NPCIL has acquired about 938 hectare from five villages in the Ratnagiri district.
