Essar eyes Zambian refinery
Essar Group plans to acquire a majority stake in Indeni Refinery in Lusaka, which has a capacity to refine around 1 mtpa of crude. Essar plans to use the refinery to supply petroleum products to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi, Zambia and East Angola. It will invest around Rs 458 crore for refurbishing and augmenting its refining capacity as the current configuration allows separation of only diesel and LPG.
