With no bidding under the PPP route for four airports, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has decided to expand and maintain the Chennai and Kolkata airports on its own, and the Jaipur and Ahmedabad airports will be developed through the operation and maintenance (O&M) contract route. AAI has plans to invest around Rs 1,400 crore in the Chennai and Kolkata airports projects.
