KMRC awards first contract for underground section

Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation (KMRC), a JV between West Bengal Government and Union urban development ministry has awarded the first contract for undertaking the underground section of the project. ITD Cementation Ltd will construct the first underground section starting from Subhas Sarobar to Central Metro station. This will cost Rs 909 crore.
