KPT issues LoIs to firms for multi-purpose berths

Kandla Port Trust has issued Letters of Intent (LoIs) to three firms for construction of three multi-purpose berths (except for handling containers and liquid cargo) in the port. The three firms are Sical (Chennai) for construction of berth 14, IMC (Chennai), for construction of berth 15 and PSL (Mumbai), for berth 16. The capacity of each berth would be 2 mn tonne and estimated the total cost of the four berths at Rs 750 crore. The construction of the berths has to be completed within two years.
