An apex body for planning and co-ordination of development activities in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, MMRDA will review the proposal to construct the city's first ever vehicular underpass, at a cost of Rs 400 crore, near Kalanagar junction in Bandra. The decision to review the proposal was taken as some members of MMRDA viewed building flyovers as cost effective compared with an underpass.
The members feel that instead of constructing two underpasses and another flyover for better connectivity to Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), the idea of constructing all three flyovers should also be explored.
