Proposal for expansion of three airports in Karnataka

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has received proposals for the expansion and facelift of the Belgaum, Hubballi and Mysuru airports. AAI has received 364 acre at Belgaum, 588 acre at Hubballi and 142 acre at Mysuru from the state government for the expansion and facelift of these airports against the projected requirements of 370 acre, 600 acre and 310 acre respectively. AAI has commenced work on the extension and strengthening of the runway, taxiways and isolation bay and construction of the new terminal building, Air Traffic Control tower and fire station, sub-station, new apron, boundary wall and associated work at the Belgaum airport.
