States´ support needed for airport development

Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathy Raju has stressed on state governments´ co-operation for airport development projects. Laying the foundation for the Rs 120 crore new international arrival and departure blocks at the Karipur airport, he reportedly said that the Central Government could take up aviation related works while the state should acquire land and provide other facilities. The new block to be constructed in an area of 17,000 sq ft, will have a capacity to accommodate about 2,000 passengers.
