Even though the high court´s prodding has made the state government act on illegal mining, it has apparently not cowed down the criminals. In one such case, Rampur Busher´s Dutt Nagar area has been an active ground for illegal miner to such an extent that the local residents are now in panic fearing that Satluj waters would flood their houses. Illegal mining was causing danger not only to Dutt Nagar village and its surrounding areas but also National Highway-22 and ancient temple of Duttatray Swami, which is one of only two in India.
