Petro-Canada Lubricants Assumes Global Management of Suniso

Petro-Canada Lubricants, an HF Sinclair brand, has assumed global management of the Suniso brand, including its trademark and technology, following the transfer from Sonneborn in September 2024. Under this transition, Suniso refrigeration lubricants will now be marketed and distributed exclusively by Petro-Canada Lubricants worldwide.

From January 2026, Petro-Canada Lubricants will market Suniso products across the Asia Pacific region through an expanded network of authorised distributors and strategic partners, aimed at improving product availability and strengthening regional reach. The move is intended to support growing demand for high-quality refrigeration lubricants in the region.

Suniso is a globally recognised brand with a legacy of over 90 years in refrigeration lubrication and is widely trusted by original equipment manufacturers and end users. The product portfolio includes Suniso GS mineral refrigeration lubricants, regarded as the original ‘Grade Standard’ in the industry; Suniso SL synthetic refrigeration lubricants; and Suniso 4SA and Suniso 4HT, developed for use with ammonia refrigerants. The range has evolved in line with modern refrigeration systems and advances in base oil technology.

Commenting on the development, Matt Joyce, Senior Vice President, Lubricants & Specialties at HF Sinclair, said, “The Suniso brand has been supplying world-leading refrigeration lubricants for more than 90 years and we’re delighted to be able to meet the growing demand of the Asia Pacific market for high-quality, reliable products. Suniso refrigeration lubricants have earned the loyalty of customers around the world, thanks to their ability to provide exceptional stability, maximise service life and deliver trouble-free performance for refrigerant compressors. With our extensive network of authorised distributors and partners, we look forward to supporting our customers’ evolving needs and driving continued growth across the Asia Pacific region.”

Suniso products will be introduced with updated branding and improved packaging. Customers are advised to purchase through authorised distributors to ensure access to genuine products and associated technical support. Further information on the Suniso range and distributor locations is available on the brand’s official website.
