AP to invest Rs.4,360 cr in power sector

Andhra Pradesh state budget 2015-16 has made provision of Rs 4,360-crore for the power sector. The APGENCO is planing to add 1,650 MW in the current financial year consisting of two units of Sri Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Project, Krishnapatnam, Nellore district with supercritical technology. In 2015-16, a total of 10,000 solar pump sets are proposed to be installed and there are plans to develop 2,500 MW capacity solar power parks in Ananthapuram, Kurnool and Kadapa districts.
