BMC plans 25 MW hydel plant along Vaitarna

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is carrying out a feasibility study for setting up a power plant in Middle Vaitarna. A small hydroelectricity project, generating 25 MW, will come up along the downstream of the Middle Vaitarna dam that is set to be completed in March 2012 and will provide 450 million litre of water to the city every day.
