Chattisgarh turns power deficit state

Power surplus Chhattisgarh has plunged into crisis with a few units of Chhatisgarh Power Generation Company (CPGCL) having developed glitches affecting production.According to officials, CPGCL’s three units in Korba had developed technical snags and production was stopped.The state, normally surplus by 400-500 MW of power, is now facing a deficit of about 1,350 MW. The total demand in the state is around 2,400 MW during peak time.
